What’s the best way to remove the rest of that stupid adhesive crap from the back of the hatch? I tried Orange Degreaser and it didn’t work as well as I had hoped...

You can see the old placement here:

And now:

But I think I am going to move it down to the lower right hand corner, more like where the badging is on the Civic Type R. I think it’ll look cleaner.

It was on my list of things to try, but I was worried it would strip clear coat.. But yeah, I have an entire bottle of it.

You could use a polishing compound and some elbow grease. A paint prep/grease and wax remover or even some diluted rubbing alcohol might also disolve the adhesive without harming the paint.

I dont know if they have in japan, but I always use a bit of Commandant No.4 in cases like these. Not too much, but just enough to clear the glue residue.

Not saying it’s right or wrong but I used a big eraser. It didn’t hurt my already bad paint at all as far as i could tell. It basically turned the old glue into little sticky balls and everything fell right off. Did this more than once with no issue.

Don’t know if you have it in a civilized country but Goo be Gone seems to work often.

I don’t think this should be a problem for the paint so long as the eraser is free of any grit that might scratch the paint. And it was my first thought as well.

Trust me, if I knew where that stuff was, it would be my first stop, but I don’t know what the Japanese equivalent is, if there is one.

It’s “petroleum distillates” mostly AFAIK, so I’m thinking naphtha would work, or gasoline, or kerosene.

Is there such a thing as just a spoiler off a TS? Havent found a TS in New Zealand but am wanting to do what youve done with yours. The only part I found was a pink/red tailgate with a spoiler :( i can always paint the spoiler but I think the whole tailgate is a bit excessive haha. Love your build too
